Many weather conditions that will damage other types of roofing material can easily be weathered by a clay roof, and even wildfire can’t damage it.

Clay has a high thermal capacity, so because of this you will keep the cost of heating and cooling your home down.

However, if you are switching from a different type of roofing material to clay, you need to first make sure that your existing structure can handle the extra weight. If not, you will need to strengthen it, which can be a substantial added cost.

On the plus side, even though the roof might cost more to install, you will have a beautiful roof that requires little maintenance and will last a long time.
